MANDARIN-TERM3 So far in Mandarin we have been learning about different countries in the world such as: Australia, New Zealand, China, USA, Germany, Vietnam, Italy, France, India, Scottland, Greece, Sudan and Japan. We've focused on these countries and more ever since the start of the term. We are learning how to pronounce these countries in Mandarin. Last week we were working on the history of China, because last Monday was Valentines Day in China. We watched a sought of fairytale chinese movie about a man and women that fell in love on Valentines Day. After we watched that film we were all sent to our tables then we were given a little passage that had missing words, but the passage was from the film we finished watching, we had to fill it in then give it to Miss Ou Yang. I really enjoy China because it's culture is very different to mine and I get to learn a lot of information I've never known. Date: 23/8/10Today in Mandarin we were still focusing on countries. Miss Ou Yang taught us about some new countries and how to pronounce them. When Miss Ou Yang pronounced them in Mandarin we had to try and figure out what is the meaning in english. After all that we were sent to our tables and Miss Ou Yang gave us a piece of paper filled with the new countries we learnt about then we had to cut them out then stick them onto our world map in our Mandarin books. After that we finished Mandarin which I thought was very quick and FUN! I really enjoyed Mandarin because I got to learn where countries were placed in the world and I got a knowledge of how to pronounce countries of the world in Mandarin. Date: 23/8/10
